Built around one outcome:
a more profitable farm.

Legacy Acre is a farm profitability platform built to help independent farmers strengthen margins, reduce unnecessary costs, uncover new financial opportunities, and build more resilient businesses. We bring together agronomy, biological systems, input optimization, tax incentives, financial strategy, and practical farm management around a single measurable goal: improving profit per acre.

Every farm is different, so we don’t believe in forcing a single product or playbook. We work across the operation to identify the combination of opportunities that makes sense for each farm, from reducing inputs and improving nutrient efficiency to capturing incentives and creating long-term value. Because profitability is what makes stewardship possible. A stronger bottom line gives farmers the ability to invest in their soil, their people, their equipment, and the next generation.

Co-Founder, Legacy Acre

Tjasa Krause

Tjasa Krause has built her work in agriculture around a simple question: how do we create better economic outcomes for farmers?

Before launching Legacy Acre, Tjasa served as Director of Agriculture and Co-Owner at TeraGanix, where she led commercial agriculture programs focused on biological systems, soil health, nutrient efficiency, and helping growers reduce dependence on expensive synthetic inputs while maintaining strong crop performance. Her work put her directly alongside farmers across thousands of acres and gave her a firsthand view into the financial pressures facing modern operations.

That experience helped shape the broader vision for Legacy Acre. Rather than addressing one input or one agronomic challenge at a time, Tjasa saw an opportunity to look at the farm as a complete business and bring together the agronomic, financial, and operational levers that can improve profitability. Today, her focus is building Legacy Acre into a platform that helps farmers create more margin per acre and stronger businesses for the generations that follow.

Co-Founder, Legacy Acre

David Olson

David Olson brings decades of hands-on farming, soil biology, agronomy, and agricultural technology experience to Legacy Acre. A sixth-generation California farmer, David grew up working on his family farm and began conducting trials with organic inputs alongside his father more than four decades ago. He describes that early field experience as the foundation for his work in biological agriculture today.

David is the owner of Sustainable Growing Solutions, which develops microbial inoculants, microbial food products, and complementary fertility solutions for commercial agriculture. SGS was founded in 2014, and its microbial products have been used on more than 70 crops across North America. The company’s founders bring roughly 45 years of experience working with organic and sustainable inputs and about 40 years working with microbial products.

His background also includes Agricultural Engineering at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, with additional study in soils, chemistry, and physics, along with extensive work in precision agriculture and remote sensing. At Legacy Acre, David brings deep agronomic and biological expertise to the platform, helping translate soil biology and field performance into practical programs designed around farm economics.

Hidden Gems: Meet Tjasa Krause of Legacy Acre

SDVoyager sits down with Legacy Acre co-founder Tjasa Krause to talk about her path into agriculture, her work alongside commercial growers, and the realization that improving farm profitability requires looking beyond individual products and treating the farm as a complete system. The conversation also explores how that thinking ultimately led to the creation of Legacy Acre.

Our Manifesto

No margin.
No mission.

American agriculture stands at a crossroads.

For generations, independent farmers have fed our communities, stewarded our land, and built businesses that were meant to be passed from one generation to the next. Today, that future is under pressure.

Margins continue to shrink. Input costs continue to rise. The average age of the American farmer continues to climb. Family farms disappear every year as financial pressure forces difficult decisions. Farmland is sold. Operations consolidate. Rural communities lose businesses, jobs, and the people who have cared for that land for decades.

None of this is inevitable.

We believe the future of agriculture depends on independent farms remaining profitable.

Profitability is not a luxury. It is the foundation that makes everything else possible.

A farm that cannot generate healthy margins cannot invest in its soil, its equipment, its people, or its future. It cannot withstand difficult years. It cannot transition to the next generation. It cannot remain independent.

At Legacy Acre, we believe that stewardship begins with a durable business.

That means helping farmers increase revenue, reduce unnecessary expenses, improve cash flow, manage risk, and create measurable returns that strengthen the operation year after year.

We are a farm profitability platform.

We bring together biological innovation, agronomic expertise, financial optimization, tax incentives, grants, operational improvements, and practical business solutions into a single platform focused on one outcome: improving the profitability of every operation we serve.

Every farm is different.

The right path for one producer may look completely different from another. Our role is not to push a single product or program. Our role is to assemble the right combination of tools that delivers measurable financial results for each unique operation.

We believe farmers deserve practical solutions that pay for themselves.

We believe every recommendation should be accountable to the bottom line.

We believe profitability can and should be measured.

No margin. No mission.

Those four words guide everything we do.

When farms become more profitable, families remain on the land. Rural communities become stronger. Local food systems become more resilient. Producers gain the confidence to invest in the future instead of simply surviving the present.

We believe Americans should have choices about where their food comes from.

We believe local agriculture matters.

We believe healthy competition creates stronger food systems than consolidation.

We believe independent farmers deserve access to the same tools, financial opportunities, and strategic advantages as the largest operations.

We believe farming should once again be viewed as one of the most important professions in America.

There is pride in building something that lasts.

There is pride in improving the land.

There is pride in creating a business that your children and grandchildren are excited to inherit.

Every acre carries responsibility.

Every acre carries opportunity.

Every acre carries a legacy.

Our mission is to help ensure that legacy continues.

We are building a future where independent farms remain profitable, rural communities prosper, and productive farmland stays in the hands of the people who steward it.

That future begins with one measurable outcome.

A stronger business.

A healthier bottom line.

A more profitable acre.

Because profit is what makes stewardship possible.
